Participants of the meeting discussed cultural, humanitarian, trade and economic issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia.

 

The Committee Chair Andriy Kozhemyakin informed participants of the delegation about topical issues of the work of the Committee and the Verkhovna Rada in general. He expressed hope that Ukrainian-Armenian cooperation will be fruitful.  

 

Leaders of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) told about the experience of large-scale humanitarian projects, activity of which aims at uniting Armenian Diaspora all over the world. In particular, Ervand Zorian, member of the AGBU Central Council, informed about the activity of the Armenian Virtual University experience of which, according to him, will be useful both to Ukraine and its Diaspora.  

 

AGBU Board member Nicolas Tavitian noted that Armenian organization is Ukraine’s reliable partner in promoting its interests in Europe and is ready to discuss specific areas of cooperation.

 

Vice President of the AGBU Vazgen Yakubyan believes that activity of their benevolent union will contribute to all citizens of Ukraine, including Armenians.

 

The Chair of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality Vyacheslav Kyrylernko noted that the Verkhovna Rada welcomes the activities of AGBU that promote development of democracy in Ukraine as well as joint socio-economic and cultural projects. “In this context, cooperation between the Armenian General Benevolent Union and the Ukrainian World Congress will be fruitful,” he underlined.     

 

People’s deputies expressed hope that the meeting will promote further development of Ukrainian-Armenian relations.
